It's been a while since I wrote.
I stopped writing for many reasons. A few main ones: I have an (almost 4 month old), and am battling with getting through this deployment. Actually I am doing the opposite of battling, I am defeating it. Another reason I stopped writing is because I was accused of "verbally abusing" my mother in law. Well here's how I see it. If she doesn't like what I write, which is the truth, she does not by any means have to read it. So here's an update on everything (mostly everything).
Alaska:
It will be a year since we've been in Alaska once August hits. I hated Alaska in the beginning. We got here, got settled and then BAM deployment. So here I was pregnant, alone, and in a new state. I hated Alaska, I definitely hated the Army and I was not thrilled with my husbands brilliant idea of "Alaska will be awesome, let's go there". But we are moving along with deployment, I am not pregnant anymore and well, Alaska has grown on me. I have made a good amount of friends, lost some (thank goodness, they were drama), and have gained even more friends that I consider my family. Landon is growing up so fast, it's bitter sweet. Part of me wants him to stay little, but the fast he grows up the faster deployment is over. Since having Landon, I have stepped out of my comfort zone. We go hiking once a week with some other wives and their kids. And when I say hiking, I mean off-roading type stuff (see photo below: this was one of the GOOD areas of the hike). We also go do play dates (you know because a 4 month old REALLY needs it... who am I kidding, because the moms are my friends!) Other than that, we are waiting anxiously for hubby's return!
Hubby:
Well, hubby made the list for E-7 and I couldn't be prouder! He's still fighting in Afghanistan but will be home before we know it. He came home to surprise me for Valentines Day (I'm sure the story is still up on the blog). We haven't seen him for about 3 1/2 months, but deployment will be over and we will be a family again soon.
Landon:
He will be 4 months on the 14th. We found out the hard way he is allergic to corn. We have to be very careful with what he eats (formula wise). We started him on solids this week. He loved the rice cereal, and was obsessed with the sweet potatoes. Will upload photo tomorrow.
Other than that. Continuing with the drama of the in-laws. It will be never ending, and I will stand my ground..
End of Story
Glad to see you all are doing well! Hope to hear more from you
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear everything is going well. July will also be a year for myself in Alaska. The summer reminds me that it isn't that bad. I just had my little one a couple weeks ago. Would love to hear more about the play dates and hikes you go on. They look and sound fun.
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog! I would love for you to check out mine, maybe we could follow each other?
